A NEW PRESS TAKES FLIGHT
Author short story Collections are like a party in a book. Meet other writers. Promote your work!
We are are a new trademarked press in our second year-- We aren't open to unsolicited queries or proposals for manuscripts, we are still growing! However, we want to promote new and diverse voices to a wider audience to make work is sharable outside of one-time print runs in journals or on an online space that may not be available long term. So we create dynamic paperback and ebooks collections of literary quality that you can share indefinitely at your events, author talks, and with family and friends and that are eligible to be carried in book stores and libraries.
We are hosting several writing contests for poetry, art, short stories, and creative nonfiction each year through Submittable. We will publish one short story collection per year and one poetry collection along with other fun collections that promote the arts as well as full poetry collections by one author. Submit often and share our contests. We pride ourselves in having each submission read by 2 to 3 judges as well as positive and encouraging individual feedback on as many of our entries as possible.
Click on each contest link for more details. Check out the poetry submissions page or our young writers page. We only accept submissions through submittable. See the results of past projects on our Book page.
More contests on our poetry and teen pages.

AUDACITY: CREATIVE NONFICTION, POEMS & ART
ON THE WOMEN'S MARCH TO EQUAL RIGHTS
Biography, Memoir, Non-fiction, Historical Fiction, Biopic Closes September 30, 2020 Art Deadline is July 1st
Equal Rights for Women
We've updated the title of this contest to help let you know better what we are looking for. This book inspired by the artwork and poetry of artist, Gloria Heifner will be a collection of work about the journey to women's rights. Educational, entertaining, informative, historical, present day. We want your story. Did you know the Equal Rights Amendment in the United States has never been ratified into law? Women do not have equal rights under the Constitution of the United States and in many countries around the world. Millions of women have spoken out on the journey to equality. Tell us about it!
“Do we have the audacity to demand the same rights and respect for every woman and young girl in our country and in the world?” Do you have a story, essay or artwork inspired by the global woman’s rights movement? What have you written? What have you shared? What is your message to the world? We are stronger together. Let’s keep putting the word out there for the world to hear! Let’s keep marching.
Winners of our contest will receive publication in a book with the title "Audacity", along with a free copy of the book. Winning work will also be featured in both softcover and eBook editions. This book includes a page about each author -- including a link to your author or artist page on our website. This book will be available for purchase online in both softcover and eBook.
SPROUTS: MEDITATIONS BY ARTISTS, POETS AND WRITERS
Meditations/ Art/ Faith Closes May 1, 2020
“This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how." Mark 4:26-28
A book of devotions by writers and artists of faith about spiritual growth, renewal, hope, and transformation.
This beautiful logo for our book project above is from Tamela Blessed Art, a creative who also writes about her faith journey. "I relate with flowers because they grow through adversity. A flower sprouts through darkness and grows towards the light. I often use black as a way to express that beauty can stem from darkness, and darkness can lead to something beautiful."
Many artists create their work from a place of faith but have few outlets to talk about that side of their work.
Maybe you have drawers full of mediations you've written, poetry, or art-- What if we opened that drawer, dusted off our work and reconsidered who might be encouraged by this work?
We've all learned from so many experiences; we've tried to capture those teachable moments in our art or our writing. Selected entries will become this beautiful book of meditations. Your work from a dark day could make the
